MWA Podcast Episode 7 - Woodworking FAQ by Spike Carlsen
I know everyone has been wondering why we have not posted the last podcast episode in the audio format and to iTunes...well here it is finally. I have had a busy with life the last two weeks and with the last episode being recorded in Google+ Hangout I have had a little adjustment period in getting the transfer.
We should be back on track for our normal cycle now, so stay tuned for more episodes!

Al Navas' Woodworking Editors, Authors & Bloggers
Our friend, Al Navas, of the Sandals Wood Fine Woodworking is starting a series of Google+ Hangouts on Air. In the Hangouts, Al will be having discussions with Woodworking Editors, Authors & Bloggers. He was kind enough to allow me to joint him on this, his first Hangout of the series.
We had the pleasure of chatting with Asa Christiana and Matt Kenny of Fine Woodworking magazine. We discussed returning to the shop safely after an absences, Fine Woodworking Live, how to submit and article to Fine Woodworking and the use of hand and power tools to get to business and build something. We also snuck in a Simpsons reference and I totally missed a Harry Potter reference.
We ask you to check it out, enjoy and have fun woodworking.

Woodworking in America Exhibitor's Announced
As they draw ever so closer, the staff over at Popular Woodworking are flushing out their information about the Woodworking in America 2012 events. While the schedules and tickets have been available for a while, they've just added the exhibitor lists.
I'm excited to say that the Modern Woodworkers Association will be at both the Pasadena and Cincinnati events in an official capacity, with a full fledged booth on the show floor. We'd love for you to stop by and say hello while you're in the market place. We're not sure exactly what we'll be doing there yet, but we promise it'll be fun and will involve wood.
To see who else will be exhibiting, be sure to check out the WIA West Coast Exhibitor Page and the WIA Midwest Exhibitor Page.

MWA Podcast #7: Woodworking FAQ by Spike Carlsen
My fellow MWA Admins and I are serious about the podcast we've started. We're hoping that it provides a relevant listening experience to any interested woodworker. I for one don't feel there are enough woodworking audio podcasts around. We're working to do our part to address that.
I begin a post with an embedded video with a talk about audio because audio is the primary medium we're aiming for with the MWA Podcast. However, given the ease of using Google+ Hangouts on Air, we felt that recording in a Hangout rather than Skype would have two (2) benefits. The first was that if we could see each other, we'd talk over each other less and the second was that having video content available with no extra work from us would be a nice bonus.
So, last week (on Friday rather than Wednesday due to scheduling issues) we recorded episode #7 in a Hangout on Air. For the viewer who happened to be tuned in at the time, you could watch live as we recorded. For everyone else, the video is on our YouTube channel and embedded below.
Unfortunately, the second step, ripping the audio from the video, is proving harder than we thought. We're working on it now and optimistic that we'll have an acceptable recording that we can publish soon. However, as we should have released the Podcast last week, I wanted to at least share the video so that those interested can watch and everyone will know we're serious and working to make this podcast a regularly scheduled event.
Here is the video of MWA Podcast #7: Woodworking FAQ by Spike Carlsen. Once we finish with the audio, we'll post a proper show notes post.
