Members from MWA-NJ/NY will be making a field trip to Philadelphia on Saturday, October 26th, to visit 2 venues of interest to woodworkers (only a few streets away from each other).
- A Nakashima Show at the Moderne Gallery in Philadelphia (www.modernegallery.com) -- "An Evolving Legacy". It runs until Saturday, November 2, with hours Tues-Sat, 12-5.
- The Center for Art in Wood (www.centerforartinwood.org) is a showcase for Woodturning. Their upcoming show is “Shadow of the Turning: The Art of Binh Pho,” and there will be a Gallery talk and Book Signing with artist Binh Pho & co-curator Kevin Wallace on Saturday, October 26 from 11 am – 1 pm. The Director of The Center - Albert LeCoff - is interested in meeting with us when we are there.
The plan is to be in Philadelphia by 10 am to walk through the Binh Pho show before the 11am - 1pm talk/ book signing, go to lunch, and head over to the Moderne Gallery (which opens at noon) to see the Nakashima show.
We don’t have to travel as a group, but we could meet for lunch, beforehand, or afterwards.
