Turkey Bacon: Fine Woodworking Live 2012 Review with Asa Christiana

Fine Woodworking Magazine just wrapped up its first ever live conference in New Paltz, NY- Fine Woodworking Live 2012.  The show ran August 3rd through 5th, and featured the magazines usual cast of contributors and editors for an information packed weekend.

Fellow Modern Woodworker Rob Bois got a chance to sit down with the magazine's editor and show planner, Asa Christiana, and discussed everything from turkey bacon to teen woodworkers.  In the interview, you'll find out what worked, what didn't, and what you might expect to see next year.  Asa stopped short of giving a guarantee, but it sounds like the show is going to become an annual event.

The Good, The Bad and The Ugly: FWWLive 2012

One of the general sessions during Fine Woodworking Live 2012 featured nearly all of the event's speakers, editors, and instructors presenting their work over time. They talk openly about what worked, what didn't, and things they've learned.

There are a series of 9 videos in a playlist, one for each presenter. Apologies for the video quality. These were shot spur-of-the-moment from my phone from the back of the room.

Special thanks to Fine Woodworking for hosting the event, and to all the speakers who shared their time and knowledge and joined the MWA for food, drink and great conversation during the weekend.
