We've Actually Planned Some Guests.

While we're good about recording every two (2) weeks (tune in every other Wednesday at about 9:00 eastern), one of the things we struggle with is announcing guests.

Well, we actually have the next three (3) podcasts lined up . . . and they're quite excellent guests.
Asa works the crowd at Fine Woodworking Live 2012
Asa Christiana
Asa is the Editor of Fine Woodworking Magazine. He's been a guest before, talking about Fine Woodworking Live 2012 and his controversy regarding the online woodworking community. Tomorrow, Wednesday 3/27/13, Asa's back on the podcast to talk about Fine Woodworking Live 2013. Tickets are available already and it's looking like it'll be even better than last year.
Charles interviews the Tormek folk at WIA 2012.
Charles Brock
Charles is an extraordinary chair maker, teacher and woodworking program host. When he's not making his own sculpted chairs or teaching others how to, Charles hosts the Highland Woodworker show for Highland Woodworking. I had the please to meet and talk with Charles at WIA 2012. I know he'll make a great guest on April 10th when he joins us.
Bruce is on the left (with hair and Grr-Ripper).

Bruce Wang
Bruce is with MicroJig, maker of some the best and safest push block on the market. They also make nice splitters and their ZeroPlay Guide Bar is fantastic. We met Bruce at WIA 2012 and he's been nice enough to agree to join us on April 24th. Hopefully he knows what he's gotten himself into.

As we tend to fly by the seat of our pants, this schedule may change. This is how it stands on 3/26, and we're as sure as we can be this schedule will hold, since we've actually talked to our upcoming guests before announcing them.

The MWA on Shop Talk Live

This is a re-posting of a post I originally shared at penultimatewoodshop.com

Last week fellow +Modern Woodworkers Association member +Rob Bois and I headed up to Newtown, Connecticut to meet up with the +Fine Woodworking crew and represent the MWA on their podcast, Shoptalk Live.
Publishers, and just all around nice guys who love woodworking.
We had a great time and really appreciate the invitation.

On the podcast we joined +Asa Christiana+Matthew Kenney & +Ed Pirnik to talk woodworking. The specific topics discussed ranged from the pro & cons of sliding compound miter saws (I'm on the Pro side) to the dangers of drinking shellac.
Matt Kenney sits down in their decked out podcasting studio
Yours truly, behind the mic.
Ed Pirnik made this decked out mic stand just to accommodate us.
You can check out the podcast on their site here, you can also download and subscribe to it on iTunes here. And if you do listen using iTunes, please leave a review. +Ed Pirnik will really appreciate it.
Rob & Matt talk shop.
Yes, Rob, jointers do come that big (By the way, he won a Bad Axe Tenon saw).

Al Navas' Woodworking Editors, Authors & Bloggers

Our friend, Al Navas, of the Sandals Wood Fine Woodworking is starting a series of Google+ Hangouts on Air. In the Hangouts, Al will be having discussions with Woodworking Editors, Authors & Bloggers. He was kind enough to allow me to joint him on this, his first Hangout of the series.

We had the pleasure of chatting with Asa Christiana and Matt Kenny of Fine Woodworking magazine. We discussed returning to the shop safely after an absences, Fine Woodworking Live, how to submit and article to Fine Woodworking and the use of hand and power tools to get to business and build something. We also snuck in a Simpsons reference and I totally missed a Harry Potter reference.

We ask you to check it out, enjoy and have fun woodworking.
